Even when the job market seems a tightly closed door, a good CV is the key to opening it up. It's your calling card, your prospective employer's first glance of what you have to offer - your experience, skills, talents, qualities, ambitions, objectives, thoughts and hopes for the future.
Your CV goes before you and the impression it makes will influence whether you're invited to an interview or not. So, keep it concise and relevant to the position for which you're applying.
Remember, the first CV you write is just a template, a moveable feast which should be customised every time you apply for a particular position, to best reflect your suitability. So, be prepared to add, subtract, edit and target your personal story to relate to each specific audience wherever possible.
